In order to make your stay as carefree as possible and to avoid any misunderstandings in advance, we have gathered all relevant information for dealing with the apartment, inventory as well as the farm. - House Rules -
1. Inventory and damages
We kindly ask you to handle our inventory with care and only put clean and dry dishes into the cupboards. Please inform us immediately of any damage caused. As a rule, tenants are liable and responsible for appropriate replacement or reimbursement of costs.
2. Noise and sleeping hours
Please keep the noise in the apartment and its surroundings to an appropriate level, especially at night between 10:00 pm (22:00) and 07:00 am.
3. Visitors
Your visitors are welcome at any time for short periods of time. However, it is not permitted to let unregistered guests stay overnight. If the number of guests has changed, please inform us accordingly.
4. Partys and group gatherings
Any form of large gatherings of people (parties, bachelor parties, etc.) are strictly prohibited in the apartment and its surroundings.
5. Smoking
Smoking/vaping is strictly prohibited inside the apartment, this also applies to smoking e-cigarettes - please use the outdoor area and ashtrays provided for smoking. Thank you!
6. Pets (dogs)
Please make sure, your dog does not use the bed or the couch and is supervised / on a leash at all times - other animals living on this farm would like to remain undisturbed. Any damage or contamination caused by your pet must be reimbursed and reported to us immediately. We will charge an extra cleaning fee of EUR 20.00.
7. Animals
Please do not feed animals living on this farm - this supports their natural nutrition and protects their health. Please also note that the fences in the horse meadows are powered! You can feed the sheep with special food laid out in the apartment.
8. Security and valuables
Please close all windows/doors before leaving the apartment and make sure to switch off all electronic devices. We shall not be liable or responsible for the loss of valuables during your stay.
9. Garbage
We kindly ask you to separate your household waste in the existing containers and, if you are staying for a longer period of time, to sort it into the garbage containers located next to the washing room.
10. Slippers
Please do not enter the apartment wearing street shoes, you can find slippers next to the entrance.
11. Toilet
The toilet is connected to a bio-sewage treatment plant - please only dispose toilet paper!
12. Arrival and departure
The apartment can be checked-in starting from 03:00 pm (15:00) on your arrival day. Departure should take place independently before 11:00 am - please leave the keys on the dining table.
13. Keys
We will hand out 2 keys (apartment and laundry room) and ask you to handle them carefully. Please inform us immediately if you lose it.
14. Laundry
The laundry room is equipped with a washing machine (including a dryer) with appropriate washing material. If something is missing, please let us know. You can reach the room going up the stairs on the right, around the building, first door on the right (sign “Waschraum”).
15. Environment
We care much about the environment, and hopefully you do too. Therefore, please turn off the lights and all technical devices when they are not needed. Saving water also helps nature.
16. Terrace and fire place
The cushions for the chairs are stored in the couch (left side can be lifted up) and should be stowed back there after use. To avoid humidity, please do not leave the cushions outside overnight.
Please make sure that the fire in the fire bowl does not produce heavy smoke, keep the flame small and avoid flying sparks (ignitable embers). Please only use the fire bowl outdoors (not under the roof!).
You can find a fire extinguisher by the fireplace in the living room.
17. Kitchen
Please put dirty dishes and glasses in the dishwasher before departure and start the washing process so that we can prepare the accommodation for the next guests as quickly as possible.
18. Toys and playhouse for children
The playing equipment and playhouse for children may only be used at your own risk and only under supervision.
19. Bed linen and towels
You would be doing us a great favor if you would remove the bed linen before check-out and collect it together with the towels somewhere on the floor. Thank you very much for your help!
20. Sauna
You can use the sauna for a one-time fee of EUR 25.00 during your whole stay. Thank you for following the below mentioned rules:

Towels must always be used when sitting/lying down

Please do not enter the sauna with shoes

Sauna (and light) must be switched off after use

Drinks/food are not allowed inside the sauna!

2. Amazon Echo („Alexa“)
The apartment is equipped with “Amazon Echo” including Alexa. Talk to her and try it yourself:

“Alexa, what’s the weather like in Schalksmühle?”
You can also use the Amazon Echo as a classic Bluetooth speaker by simply commanding “Alexa connect Bluetooth” followed by pairing your device with “Echo-0K9”.
Click the microphone button on the device at any time to deactivate the microphone, you can also disconnect it from the power if you like.
3. Mattress
Everyone has their own sleeping preferences, which is why we use mattresses that have 2 degrees of hardness - to do this, turn the mattress around - the "thick" side is the soft one, the "narrow" side is the harder one - feel free to try it out!
4. Fire wood
You will receive a basket full of firewood for the fireplace and fire bowl (second one only for outside). If you need more, please let us know. Please do not serve yourself from our wood storage.
5. Supermarkets
Nearby the apartment there are two supermarkets that can be easily reached by car (approx. 5 minutes) or bike. At both locations you will also find a bakery for your breakfast.
